This vintage 80s Kramer JK1000 is basically a custom ESP guitar and rivals the quality of the same year USA market Kramers. Also, it is considered an artist model for Mr. Van Halen. This is one helluva fun shredder that screams EVH. Check out the video for a soundcheck of what this guitar can produce.
Kramer, although now part of Gibson, used to be a company riddled with innovation. For instance, the first company to have the Floyd Rose tremolo system on a guitar as a stock option was Kramer. This led, of course, to Eddie Van Halen’s collaboration with Kramer. Full maple body, maple neck and fingerboard, a JB in the bridge and a Floyd Rose. Do you really need more than that if you just wanna ROCK?
This JK-1000 was built in Japan by the ESP factory for Kramer guitars. It’s a quintessential 80’s Hair Metal guitar: double-cut body, single humbucker pickup, master volume control, and a Floyd Rose tremolo. All you need to shred and nothing more.
This JK’s color has kept up, still an obvious white (not aged cream white).
The guitar has a one-piece maple fretboard neck and the original Floyd Rose locking nut. The neck is straight.
